 Mrs. Florene Blakely Gaddis, age 97, of the New Harmony Community of Arab, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Gaddis was born on December 23, 1921 in Blount County to Finis E. Blakely & Ludie E. Kelsoe Blakely. She has been married to Mr. Tommy Pascal Gaddis for 80 years and together they ran a poultry farm from 1960 -1985.
She was a member of New Home Baptist Church for 50 years.
Mrs. Gaddis is survived by her husband, Pascal Gaddis; daughters & son-in-law, Ouinta G. Wilks, Eulaylon Hadley, Sharlene Bentley & Billy; son, Gerald Gaddis; brothers, O.L. “Bud” Blakely; grandchildren, Dale Gaddis & Shannon, Regeina Williamson & Michael, William R. Wilks II, Melanie Cox & Eric, Scott Hadley & Lynn, Jennifer Hays & Randy, Kevin Gaddis & Vickie; 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Finis E. Blakely & Ludie E. Kelsoe Blakely; son, LaWayne Gaddis, sons-in-law, William R. “Bill” Wilks, Ronnie Hadley; daughter-in-law, Katherine Gaddis; 7 siblings.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in New Home Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be William R. Wilks II, Dale Gaddis, Scott Hadley, Randy Hays, Michael Williamson & Kevin Gaddis.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
