Mrs. Clara Annette Wood, 72, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 after a long battle with COPD. She was born October 8, 1946 in Mississippi to James and Christine Broadhead. Clara was married forty-six years to her sweetheart, Stanley Wood, and enjoyed being a dedicated homemaker, caring for him and her children. Her love for her family was unconditional. She was a kind, sweet, and loving lady, and was always welcoming to everyone. She was a Christian lady who had a servants’ heart, caring for others. She is remembered as the kind of person we all want to be by all those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service celebrating Clara’s life will be at 6 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Jim Varnon officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4PM to service time only.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Wood of Blue Springs; her children, Jerri Kilgo (Jeff) of the Auburn Community, Wayne Edwards of New Albany, Chrissy Wood of Blue Springs, Kathy Smith (Cliff) of Grenada, and Stan Wood, II (Chasity) of Belden; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Brendon Tyler Wood.
