Virginia Jamerson, 81, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away November 27, 2018 at Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville, IL.
She was born March 19, 1937 in Mantachie, MS. She was a lifelong member of Lakeview Church in Zion, IL. She ran and operated J. W. Copen & Jamerson Excavation in Winthrop Harbor for many years.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday December 3, 2018 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Akers officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Monday December 3, 2018 at Senter Funeral Home.

Virginia is survived by her children; Angie (Jim) Gilmore of Beach Park,, Kerry (Emi) Jamerson of Lexington, KY; Jamie Ianson, Scott (Kim) Gilmore, Uli Spradlin, Derek (Brittney) Rush Ryan and Kevin Jamerson; five great-grandchildren, sisters; Laura Jane (Gordon) Fielder, Anita (Roger) Akers, sister in law, Ann Thornton and her dear friend Lauren Haas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Opal Thornton, daughter Teresa Ann Derfler, great-granddaughter Jaina Spradlin, brother Roger Thornton, her sister Alvia Burleson.
