Theresa M. Martin, 90, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday afternoon. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Louis, who immigrated from Czechoslovakia, and Anna Zelenak. One of ten siblings, Theresa graduated from high school in Danville, Pennsylvania and married George P. Martin in 1949. Theresa and George had four children, Kathleen Weston (Miles, deceased), Mary Schrenk (William), Diane Rodgers (David), and George, Jr. (Judy). Theresa has five grandchildren, Miles Weston, III, Michelle Schrenk Savoie, Aaron Schrenk, Ashley Martin and Tara Martin Bennewitz and eight great-grandchildren.
Theresa was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church since moving to Huntsville in 1960 and enjoyed singing in their choir. She also loved to bowl and fish at their cabin.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses, caregivers, and sitters who took wonderful care of our mother at Harbor Chase and Madison Manor.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 1st, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the funeral Mass following at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church building fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
