Floyd Tirey, Jr. of Russellville passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at ECM Hospital at the age of 81. A native of Walker County, Alabama, Mr. Tirey had spent most of his life in the Russellville area. He was retired from Citizens Bank and a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Russellville. In addition, he served in the U.S. National Guard.
Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, Russellville. Services will follow on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Russellville, at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Patrick Martin. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
Surviving Mr. Tirey are his wife, Betty Jo Tirey; daughters: Tammy Tirey Gorum and husband Mike and Kim Tirey Cole and husband Kelly. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Wood and husband Freddie and grandchildren: John Michael Gorum, Emily Gorum, Tirey Cole and wife Lindsay, and Hannah Cole Clark and husband Brian, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding Mr. Tirey in death were his parents, Floyd and Vilie Campbell Tirey, Sr. A brother, Hilton Tirey, also predeceased him.
