Dr. William Howard Striplin, Jr. died Monday at his home. He was born in Gadsden to Anna Murphree and William Howard Striplin.
A graduate of Birmingham Southern College, he graduated with the 1961 class of the University of Alabama Medical College. He was a passionate doctor who served the Huntsville community for 44 years.
After his retirement, he dedicated many years of volunteer service at the Community Free Clinic. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Trudy Frye Striplin; children, Frank Striplin and Anna Striplin Hill Miller; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, September 27 at First United Methodist Church. The service will follow at the church with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
