Herbert Leo Michael, 91, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hilltop Assisted Living after an extended illness. Mr. Michael was a native of Lauderdale County, a United States Army World War II veteran, retired from TVA and a member of Hickory Flatt Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Loretto Memorial Chapel, Inc. Marcus Wilson will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flatt Cemetery with military honors at graveside. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Loretto Memorial Chapel, Inc.
Survivors are his son, Justin Michael (Janet), Killen; daughters, Judy Killen (Ricky), Lexington, Jacqueline Pettus (Kenny) Killen; brother, Doyce Michael Killen; five grandchildren, Bridget Killen “Barry”, Chad Killen “Stephanie”, Elizabeth Connor “John”, Blake Michael “Brooke” and Logan Pettus; and seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Brock, Brady Avery, Campbell, John Hayes and Barrett.
Preceded in death by wife, Betty Gray Michael; son, Herbert Wayne Michael; parents, Rollie and Birdie Forsythe Michael; brother, J. C. Michael and sister, Mildred Collier.
Pallbearers will be Chad Killen, Austin Killen, Brock Killen, Brady Holden, Blake Michael and Logan Pettus.
