MOULTON-In February of this year, Bobbie Taylor, 84, was found guilty of six counts of second-degree animal cruelty. On Tuesday, May 22 Lawrence County Circuit Court Judge Mark Craig sentenced Taylor to nine months suspended jail time, she has been placed on 24 months’ probation andreceived a fine of $11,100 plus court costs.
Taylor also has been ordered to enter mental health treatment and cannot possess more than 10 animals.
These charges stem from a raid that occurred June 29, 2015. Taylor was operating the animal shelter for the Lawrence County Commission. The shelter was located in Lawrence County on County Road 170.
