Leslie D. “Bubba” Harrell, 71, of Cherokee, died May 15, 2018. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will be Friday, May 18th at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother James Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Frances Harrell.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Harrell; sons, Shannon and Brent (Ashlee) Harrell; sisters, Sarah Frances Nelson, Barbara Gayle Carroll and Sue Harrell; grandchildren, Malloree and Claire Harrell; great-grandchild, Kendrick Cross; and nephews, Doug (Nette) Nelson and Darrell Nelson.
Bubba was a member of Cherokee United Methodist Church. He retired from Union Carbide and Bubba’s Gun and Pawn.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Bonds, Jim Carpenter, William “Bimbo” Maxwell, Ricky Moore, Myron Oliver, Paul Pounders, Dwight Reid and Jack Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale “Freck” Cochran, Jimmie Fry, James “Little Bubba” Harrell and Jeff Thomas.
