Mrs. Lanell Ruth Spann, age 76, of Arab passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
Mrs. Spann was born on June 22, 1941 in Morgan County to Leonard H. Smith and Gladys Odell Oden Smith. Lanell was a 1959 graduate of Arab High School. She was married to James R. Spann for 53 years before his passing in 2013. Mrs. Spann was the Chief Clerk for 25 years at Marshal County Sheriff’s Department before retiring in 2000.
Mrs. Spann was a member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brothers, Danny H. Smith & Donnie L. Smith; sister, Jean Gaylord; nephews, Dustin Smith & Rick Chaney; nieces, Katelyn Robinson & Amber Smith; great nephew, Kohen Robinson; great nieces, Caroline Chaney & Aubrey Smith. Preceded in death by her husband, James R. Spann; parents, Leonard H. Smith and Gladys Odell Oden Smith.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Smith, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
