Thomas Allen Sneed, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Tom was born on February 19, 1943, to Will Allen and Yvonne Swearingen Sneed in Moulton.

After graduating from Russellville High School in 1961, he attended Howard College (Samford) in Birmingham and then the McWhorter School of Pharmacy. Upon graduation he began a long and cherished career as a pharmacist.

He married Jo Ann Green, his best friend from college, on August 23, 1964.

In 1970, Tom purchased Hartselle Rexall Drugs where he worked and served Hartselle for over 20 years. He then worked for Summerford Nursing Home and several area pharmacies until the time of his passing. Tom loved his customers and the chance to help improve their lives.

Tom was a faithful member of the Hartselle Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and then as an elder. He loved teaching and serving as both mentor and friend to several young men and women. Tom was an avid reader, enjoyed going to movies, and served as chauffeur for his grandchildren. Tom mastered the art of full body laughing which was infectious to all those around him.

Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jo Ann; sons, Allen (Hope) Sneed, Oxford, Mississippi and Richard Sneed, Hartselle; daughter, Amy (Matt) Reynolds, Hartselle; grandchildren, Sydney Ellen and Hudson Thomas Sneed, Hartselle; Mattie Lena, Anna Kate and Laura Lee Reynolds, Hartselle; his beloved sisters (in-law), Martha (Chervis) Isom, Birmingham and Linda (Don) Raughton, Fort Payne.

Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be at Hartselle Church of Christ at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2018, with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Hudson Sneed, Dr. Alan Walker, Talmage Reynolds, Darrell Sims, Dwight Conway, David Hobbs, Tim Brown, Mike Preuitt, Justin Barley and Todd Barrier.Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons from the church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hartselle Church of Christ Building Fund.
