Funeral service for Joel Jackson Jennings, age 81, of Decatur, will be Friday, March 9, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin McCormick officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Jennings, who died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Valley View Health & Rehabilitation, was born December 12, 1936, in Estes, MS, to Leland Jennings and Melvina Thompson Jennings. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters. He was a loyal follower of the Baptist faith, and loved bass fishing.
He is survived by one son, Mitchell Lee Jennings of Gurley; two daughters, Dara Jennings Kulpa of Madison, and Allison Jennings Ledbetter of Decatur; four brothers; two sisters; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
