Funeral service for Paul Thomas Byrd, 85, of Falkville, will be Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:00PM at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00AM to 2:00PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Byrd died January 26, 2018 at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born February 15, 1932 in Morgan County to John Thomas Byrd and Effie Chasteen Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a retired Auto Body Shop teacher at A.P. Brewer High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He loved hunting and farming, and he raised the best peaches. Mr. Byrd was a member of the Gandy’s Cove Community Watch program. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. When he was able he kept parched peanuts and homemade peanut brittle for his family and friends. Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Thomas Byrd; and one great grandson, John Thomas Huff.
