Bettie E. Moyers age 91 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Moyers was born April 23, 1926 in Giles County, TN to Marvin Croley and Hattie Boyd Croley.

Services will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 3:00 p.m., at Sardis Springs Baptist Church with Tim Keenum and Jack Bailey officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home assisting the family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Moyers; one brother, Joe Croley; one sister, Mira Ramsey.

Survived by one daughter, Linda Moore and husband, John of Silver Creek, GA; one son, Glenn Moyers and wife, Delores of Athens; four grandchildren, Tammy Bailey, Michael Moyers, John H. Moore and Brent Melvin Moore; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; six sisters, Edith Gooch of Athens, Marvilene Hargrove of Athens, Rena Turner of Athens, Frances Brooks and husband, Les of Battletown, KY, Barbara Davis of Coca Beach, FL and Sandra Wales and husband, Buford of Athens; four brothers, Aubrey Croley of Blakely, GA, Rowe Croley of Athens, Kenneth Croley and wife, Sadie of Athens and Andy Croley and wife, Cathy of Dunn, NC.

Mrs. Moyers was a lifetime member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church. She taught beginner’s children’s class at church. She was an avid gardner and loved flowers, and loved to visit the sick and loved her family.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Sardis Springs Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Morris Legg Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers make memorials to Sardis Springs Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Limestone County.
