Nancy Patterson Brown, age 84, died Saturday, October 28. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Claude Kelley Brown. She is survived by her son, Pat Brown (Andrea); daughter, Gina Brown Austin (Ellis); grandsons, Chris Brown, Patrick Howard (Betsy), John Ross Howard (Kelly); and sister, Joanne Stewart (John Milton). She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends, as well as longtime friend and caregiver Chuck Hines.
She was a lifelong resident of Madison County where she grew up in Hazel Green. She retired from the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone and continued to volunteer alongside her husband Kelley with Red Cross. They were charter members of Mountain View Baptist Church and current members of First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 30, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Travis Collins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
