Funeral for Zippria Reno Butler Tanksley, 95, of Falkville, will be Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Nathan Green and Bro. Phillip Robinson officiating. Burial will be in New Hope North Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tanksley, who died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Falkville Health Care Center, was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Blount County to Frances Napoleon Reno and Molly Woods Reno. She was a homemaker and before her retirement was employed with the Lurleen B. Wallace Center. She was a Baptist in her faith and a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands, John Buford Butler and Marvin Tanksley; daughter, Jean Butler and two grandsons, Gregory and Tony Creel.
Survivors include three sons, Tim Butler, Kenneth Butler and Terry Butler, all of Falkville; three daughters, JoAnn Montgomery, Hartselle, Nelladean Green (Pat), Falkville and Sandra Childers, Eva; three brothers, Troy Reno, Jasper, Danny Reno and Donnie Reno, both of Trafford; one sister, Roxie Luker, Prattville; 27 grandchildren; 53 great- grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
