Ann Jones Spivey, 87, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017. She was born in Moulton to Authur and Lucy Stewart Jones on Oct. 9, 1929.
Mrs. Spivey was married to Earnie Spivey on June 5, 1948. She was a member of Beltline Church of Christ where her husband served as an elder. She worked as an underwriter at Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company. She loved to entertain her family and friends, and she loved to cook and sew. Everyone loved her caramel cake. Mrs. Spivey was happiest when her home was filled with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnie; her daughter-in- law, Cathy; her parents and her nine siblings.
Survivors include her sons, Dewayne (Jane), Larry (LuAnn), Gary (Faye) and Keith (Pat); 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at noon at Beltline Church of Christ with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 10 to 11:45 a.m at the church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
