Ida Lou Johansen – Obituary

 Ida Lou Johansen, 87, died peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Courtyards Community Living Center in Fulton, MS. She was born February 18, 1930, in the Dorsey community of Itawamba County to William Esker Williams and Ila Bell Powell Williams.  Ida grew up in Fulton, MS, and in the 1940’s she moved to Zion, IL, where she met and married Earnest Richardson. They had four sons. In 1961 she married David Johansen and had three more children.  She loved to watch the birds from her chair, especially the hummingbirds. She was a loving Christian mother who brought her children up to know and love Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Charles (Rhonda) Richardson of Tupelo, MS; John (Kathy) Johansen, of Mantachie, MS; William (Cheryl) Johansen of Kenosha, WI; Roger (Penny) Johansen of Kenosha, WI; Cheryl (Jeff) Hartleroad of Dyersburg, TN; and Keith (Penny) Johansen of Martin, TN. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Esker and Ila Bell Williams; her daughter, Sandra; her son, Gary and his wife Lynette; her first husband, Earnest Richardson; her second husband, David Johansen; and five sisters and four brothers.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
