Johnny Ray Harper, age 60 of Dora, passed away Tuesday June 27, 2017 at his residence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps; he worked for the City of Dora and was an Auburn fan.
Funeral services will be Friday June 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Gene Cook will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Thursday from 5:30-8 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gladys Harper; brothers, Charles and Wayne Harper; and sisters, Pat Scissom and Kathy Morton.
Survivors include his sisters, Thelma Kelly of Graysville, Doris Wilbert and Judy Harper of Dora, and Becky Harper of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. H also leaves behind his special pets, Gladys, Star and Shirley.
