Hazel Genelle Jeffreys, 85, of Town Creek passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Shoals Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Phil Kimbrough officiating. Burial will be in Hardshell Cemetery.
Hazel was a uniquely sweet, kind and gentle woman who will be dearly missed by her family and community. She understood how lovely this world could be, and her affectionate curiosity about this earth and the people in it prompted her to explore the world both through travel and the written word. A strong-willed and stubborn woman, her life was her own until the very last of her days, and though she left this world peacefully, it was not without a fight. She has left a void, and will be missed.
She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Edard Jeffreys Jr.; her daughter, Edwina Bressette (Bernard); her son, David Jeffreys (Kim); four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many close friends.
