Shirley Ruth Stubblefield Howard, 73 of the Pleasant Valley Community, died Tuesday May 30, 2017 at Crestwood Medical Center.
Mrs. Howard was born March 25, 1944 in Kingsport, Tennessee to Asa Paul Stubblefield and Louise Jackson Stubblefield. She worked as an office manager for Piggly Wiggly grocery until her retirement. Her husband: Curtis Paul Howard preceded her in death on April 20, 1992. She enjoyed working puzzles and word search, gardening and spending time with her family.
She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Paul and Patricia Howard and her sister-in-law: Jean Compton; her grandchildren: William and Laura Howard, April and Lee Henry and Peggy and David Fredette; great grandchildren: Caleb Langley, Kenley Howard, Brodie Henry, Kelsey Howard, Sophie Henry and DeLaney Fredette; step great grandchildren: Emily Champion, Daniel Champion, Jacob Champion and Triston See. She was preceded in death by her husband: Curtis Paul Howard, her children: Stanley Curtis Howard, Peggy Sue Howard and Brenda Carol Howard; her brothers: Noah R. Compton and Walter Compton.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday June2, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Oleander Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Skip Compton, Jim Compton, Melvin King, Edward Leeth and Kenny Winkles.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday June 1, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
