Donald David McKelvey, 64, of Florence passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10th from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Wayne Green officiating. Burial will be at Rhodesville Cemetery.
David was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County. He was a great guy who spent his life using his hands and helping others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Franklin and Ossie Baskins McKelvey; and siblings, J.C., Junior, Geraldine, Idell, and Eloise.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Reuben Hamby and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Donald Fowles, Mike Hamm, Todd Wilbanks, David Baskins, Jim Murphy, and Roy Baskins. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Wilbanks and Reuben Hanby.
