William Jackson “Jack” Kinney, 87 of Arab Alabama, the Ruth Community, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Kinney was born August 2, 1929 in Marshall County to L.D. Kinney and Wincie Blanton Kinney. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was married to the former Billie Jean Harbin for 65 years. Mr. Kinney worked for the City of Arab in the street and sanitation department. He enjoyed wood working, farming and gardening.
Mr. Kinney was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Billie Jean Kinney; two daughters: Janie Frazier and Linda Henson; his grandchildren: Chad Helton, Rickey Henson, Ashley Frazier, Wesley Helton and Jamie Henson and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: L.D. and Wincie Kinney; a daughter: Shirley Kinney Helton; and his brothers: George Earl Kinney, James Floyd Kinney and Achibold Kinney.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 25, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother: Joel Shiflett, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Oak/Ruth Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Chad Helton, Rickey Henson, Jamie Henson, Larry Barnett, DaKota Black and Shawn Sumner.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday January 24, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
