Ricky Lee Hopson, 56, of Hackleburg, entered into rest on January 17, 2017.

Mr. Hopson was born on December 24, 1960, in Haleyville. Ricky was a member of Faith Church for 36 years. He loved spoiling his grandbabies and enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, metal detecting, arrowhead hunting, and tinkering. He received many coon hunting and fishing awards over the years. Ricky was known as “Hop” by family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 12pm-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where memorial service will be held at 2pm. Brother Gary Wakefield will officiate.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Alice Louise Hopson; sons, Eli (Becky) Hopson, Jesse (LaShae) Hopson, Christopher Stokes; daughters, Amanda (Jonothan) Corley; Michelle (Shane) Hunter, Kristen Hopson, Krissy (Joe) Dempsey; brother, Albert Ray Dockins; sister, Peggy (Grizzly) Thompson; and sister in law, Bonnie Hopson. He was “Pawpaw” to 15 grandchildren, Austin Mitchell, Ethan Hunter, Makayla Hunter, Whitley Webb, Jayda Stokes, Allison Stokes, Ivy Hopson, Abigail Odom, Thomas Odom, Elizabeth Corley, Leo Hopson, Jacob Hopson, Shelby Dempsey, Edward Dempsey, Ryleigh Clark; and 2 great grandchildren, Ella Mitchell, and Connor Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittany Hopson; parents, Luther and Pauline Hopson; brothers, Eddie Hopson, Teddy Hopson, John Lee Hopson; grandmother, Alice Lee Hopson; aunts, Katie, and Mule; uncles, William, and Clifford; and a niece, Pamela Hopson.
