Alvis Wayne Power – Obituary

Alvis Wayne Power, 67, of Tuscumbia passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday January 13th at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14th, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Keith Prince officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Wayne was a native of Colbert County, AL. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in Vietnam on the USS Saratoga. Wayne was a retired Supervisor with Muscle Shoals Minerals. He was a member of the Colbert Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Highland Park Baptist Church. Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 46 years Johnnie Power; son Michael Power; daughters Lisa Malone (husband Shawn), Teresa Hester (husband Steven), and Judy Morson (husband Kenny); seven grandchildren: Trevor Malone, Drew Malone, Cameron Morson, Conner Morson, Shaylee Hester, Seth Hester, and Kyler Power.
Pallbeaers will be grandsons, Trevor Malone, Cameron Morson, Conner Morson, Drew Malone, Seth Hester, and Kyler Power, also, Roy McDougal, Chris McDougal, and Jimmy Thompson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 4th floor nursing staff of Helen Keller Hospital and to Dr. McAnally and Dr. Dean.
