Florence Police Arrest Suspect In Theft Of Two Watercraft

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement on the arrest of a suspect who has been charged with Theft 1st Degree:

“Mr. Houston Hinton was arrested on two counts of Theft 1st and one count of Criminal Mischief. Mr Hinton had an $11,000.00 bond and has currently been bonded out.


On 12/6/2016 we received a call concerning a stolen Sea-Doo Personal Watercraft from Chisholm Rd. During the theft the offender damaged the carport that the Sea-Doo was under.

On 12/8/2016 patrol located the Sea Doo at a residence in Oakhill’s Subdivision, when investigators responded to recover the Sea-Doo one of the residence advised that he had a Sea-Doo boat earlier that day but had moved it. Investigators were able to track down the boat and locate the owner of it. When they spoke with the owner he was able to confirm that the boat had been stolen from a residence on Helton Dr.

Both watercrafts have been recovered and returned to the owners.

The Sea-Doo PW was found at Mr Hinton’s residence and the Sea-Doo Boat was located at his grandfather’s residence.”
