Vernia P. Stricklen, 78, of Burnsville, MS, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Mrs. Stricklen was Pentecostal in faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family, putting together puzzles, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. James Rich. Interment will follow in Little Flock Cemetery. Pallbearers include Donald McCoy, Rodney McCoy, Michael Stricklen, Brandon Smith, Brian Smith, Hunter Stricklen, Preston Carpenter, and Austin Brown. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is survived by her children, Mary McCoy, Jimmy Stricklen, Peggy Stricklen, Loretta Carpenter, and Michael Stricklen; her siblings, Paul Benefield, Durrell Benefield, and Truby Thomas; her grandchildren, Donald McCoy, Rodney McCoy, Brandy Butler, Brandon Smith, Brian Smith, Hope Brown, Preston Carpenter, Michael Stricklen, Hunter Stricklen, and Hannah Stricklen; and her great grandchildren, Benjamin McCoy, Brooke McCoy, Dylan McCoy, Halle McCoy, Jaycee Stricklen, Levi Stricklen, Lyric Stricklen, Jensen Stricklen, Sonny Butler, Pepper Butler, Austin Brown, Alisha Brown, Amberly Brown, Corrine Smith, Ian Smith, Anna Goforth, David Goforth, and Daniel Goforth. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A.
