hershelHerschel L. White, 84, of Florence, passed away on November 27, 2016 at Glenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of Underwood Baptist Church and served in the United States Army in the Korean War.  He was a 1973 graduate of the FBI Academy. He worked 33 years at T.V.A. as head of nuclear security and property protection. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandsons.  He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Underwood Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie McDaniel and Bro. Doug Farris officiating. The body will lie in state from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at Underwood Baptist Church.   Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children Ann Rhodes White, brother, Virgil White; sisters, Geneva Rose and Sheila Faulkner; parents, Andy Jack and Maude White.

Survivors include his wife, Willena Nelson White; son, Tal White (Angela) both of Florence;  daughters, Vicki Pace of Killen and Natalie McDonald (Darwin) of Florence; grandchildren, Johnathan Pace (Ashley), Spencer Pace, Andrew White, Jacob White, Nicholas Tackett, Landon Tackett and Parker Stone; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Bates, Madalyn Pace, Hunter Pace and Maci Crockett. Step-children, Betty Minor (Skeet), Mike Nelson (Genice), Darryl Nelson (Melanie) all of Florence, Carol Morgan (Dennis) of Killen; step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnathan Pace, Spencer Pace, Andrew White, Jacob White, Nicholas Tackett and Parker Stone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Underwood Baptist Building Fund.
