billy-joeFuneral for Billy Joe Hembree, 85, of Decatur will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Bellview Baptist Church with Chris Martin officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Hembree, who died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at River City Rehab, was born Monday, June 8, 1931, to James Henry Hembree and Thelma Lindsey Hembree. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. He was married to Joyce Naylor Hembree, the love of his life, for 62 years. Billy Joe enjoyed showing and training Tennessee Walking Horses. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, worked at Prestolite and owned J&K Machine & Tool. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J.W. “Hobo” Hembree, Jerry Hembree and Bobby Hembree; and sister, Lola Hood and Hilda Reeder.

Survivors his spouse, Joyce Faye Hembree; sons, Joey (Gail) Hembree and Kerry (Tina) Hembree; daughters, Joy Hamilton, Tina (Patrick) Roberts and Ronda (Chris) Martin; brothers, Fred Hembree, James Hembree and Doug Hembree; grandchildren are Steven Haynes, CeCe Hamilton, Ashley Hembree, Zachary Hembree, Colby White, Ali White, Erin Neal, Montana Hembree, Gus Hembree and Christian Martin; and great-grandchildren, Isaiah Haynes, Jacob Haynes, Nathan Hamilton, Dakota Hamilton, Blaze Hembree, Stella Rigsby, Legend Hembree, Coast Hembree, Bradley Hamilton and Breeze Victorino.

Pallbearers will be Steven Haynes, Zachary Hembree, Gus Hembree, Christian Martin, Nathan Hamilton, Bradley Hamilton, Dakota Hamilton and Caleb Victorino.

Family would like to thank Dr. Gifford and staff at River City Rehab.
