Christopher Wayne DeVaney age 38 of Dora, passed away Saturday November 19, 2016. He was a graduate of Dora High School, class of 1996; he attended Bevill State College, and was a member of the Black Warrior Council of the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout; he was also a member of the Lakeshore Foundation Wheelchair Basketball Team.
Funeral services will be Tuesday November 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. J.D. Dickerson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm. on Tuesday. Burial will be in New Horizon Memorial Gardens on Wednesday at 10:00 am.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and Lavonne Andrews and Joy Mae Phillips.
Survivors include his parents, Doyle and Bekki DeVaney; sister, Kristie Alexander and husband Landon; niece, Kaeleigh Brooke Alexander; several other extended family members and a host of friends.
