Sarah Corinne Dawes, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, October19, 2016 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Dawes was born January 26, 1923 in Lauderdale County to Allison and Alma Dean Ezell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Dawes; parents, Allison and Alma Ezell; daughter, Melissa Pentecost, and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Dawes is survived by three sons, Willard “Butch” Dawes of Huntsville, Tom Dawes, and Rick Dawes and wife Debbie of Athens; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special niece and caregiver Judy Shaw, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery with Ralph Gregg officiating. Family will receive friends at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home from 1:00-2:45 PM on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Ben Dawes, Sam Dawes, Jacob Dawes, Seth Dawes, Spencer Dawes, and Ronnie Wales. Honorary pallbearers Joe McDole and John Barley.
Mrs. Dawes was the last member of a very large family, and also a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
