Judith Burns Border 59, went to be with Jesus on October 18, 2016. Judi was born March 22, 1957 in St. Louis, MO. Her family moved to Jacksonville, FL when Judi was a child and that’s where she completed high school. She attended Auburn University before moving to northern Alabama and starting her TVA career. She had 2 beautiful children and they moved to Elkmont, Al.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Judi believed in hard work. This showed in an illustrious 33 year carrier with TVA that started at Bellefonte nuclear plant and ended at Brownsferry nuclear plant. There is no way to capture the vast extent of people Judi helped, befriended, and made extended family of throughout her journey.
Her children were her life, and after retirement the highlights of her life were her grand babies. Judi was happiest when she was with them and did whatever it took to defend and protect them. She loved life. Judi was never idle. If she wasn’t guiding her children or chasing her grand babies, she was keeping up with friends.
Some of her favorite hobbies included home improvement projects and gardening where her pup Woogie was always by her side.
She was a Christian, beloved mother, grandmother (Gaga), sister, and friend who will always be cherished.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clifford & Helen Burns.
She is survived by her daughter Jessica and Wesley Clark and her son Clint & Amberlee Border. Her grand babies Tyler, Andy, and Emma Clark, Sophia & Baby Border on the way. Her sister Beverly Burns of San Francisco, CA. Her fur babies Woogie & Lilly.
Celebration of Life services will be Saturday, October 22, 2016 6:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Hayes officiating, followed by sharing of memories by anyone who wishes to participation. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. “In memory of Judi, the family requests that your attendance be as casual as the life she lived.”
In lieu of flowers the family felt Judi would like donations to be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
