The funeral for Hazel Ruth Watkins, age 84, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Barry Simpsrott and Reverend Harold Coomer officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 1:30-3 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Watkins, who died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, was born on March 24, 1932, in Moulton to Ross and Irene Lancaster.
Mrs. Watkins, with friends and her daughter, could be found with her guitar singing bluegrass and southern gospel at most churches and retirement homes in Lawrence and Morgan counties. That was something she truly enjoyed.
She is survived by daughter, Beverly Lipscomb; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Robin Watkins, and daughter, Ginger Pitts.
