Charlane Lane, 81, formerly of Huntsville and Decatur, died Sunday evening October 2 at Baptist Hospital Memphis. Graveside services will be Friday Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville. She was the widow of Allen E. Lane and is survived by her daughters, Sherry Puckett Greene (Rodney) and Mary Kate Puckett Garner (Stokes), both of Memphis, and countless friends. In 1959 she moved to Huntsville where she raised her daughters. She retired with Al to Decatur and Rogersville for many years. After Al’s death she moved to Memphis. She was a hospice volunteer, a member of the Newcomers Club in Decatur, and a past member of Variety Club Children’s Charities’ Memphis Tent. She enjoyed playing bridge but blackjack was her real passion. She was a great cook and hostess, always finding extra room at the table for anyone who dropped by.
