Dorothy Gayle ‘Dot’ Williams, 99, of Huntsville, passed away Monday at Huntsville Hospital. A resident of Madison and then Huntsville, Dot was a devoted daughter, a loving sister and an adoring aunt. An avid Alabama football fan, she never failed to watch a game and could recite the stats for years. She enjoyed cooking special meals for family and friends featuring her delicious ‘Dot Yeast Rolls’. She was predeceased by her parents, Horace H. and Sophie Williams, and her sister, Nell Williams.
Survivors include her brother, Harold Williams, and brother-in-law, Jim Williams both of Huntsville; niece, Susan Williams Levine of Birmingham; nephews, Bobby Williams (Shana) of Birmingham, Tommy Williams (Dorothy) of Sheffield, and Steve Williams (Jennifer) of Huntsville; great nieces and nephews, Andrew Williams (Stacey), and Jennifer Williams Fife (John) all of Birmingham; Robin Levine of Orlando; and Shane Williams of Huntsville. Dot’s feisty personality and love of family will be remembered and treasured.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, Sept. 29, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service following at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.
