Chester Walls – Obituary

Chester Walls, age 87, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery. Pastors, Sunil Jessy, Catherine Schissz, Charlie Highfield, and Warren Jones will be officiating.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Muscle Shoals First Assembly of God faithfully for 54 years. Mr. Walls retired from Occidental Chemical as a medical tech after many years of loyal services.

He was preceded in death by parents, Bertie and Amanda- Jane Walls.

Survivors are wife of 61 wonderful years, Etelka Walls; daughter, Margaret “Margie” Beck (Brian); son, John Walls (Kris Wagnon); grandson, Morgan Beck (Krista Pace); great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Beck; brother, Houston Walls; sister, Sadie Selvage; and a host of loving nieces and nephews and other family members.

Pallbearers are Forrest Smallwood, Tim Ray, Michael Butz, Clay Bendall, Chris Bobo, and Tommy Beck.

Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice 3230 Florence Blvd. Florence, Al 35634, and Multiple Sclerosis Foundation 6350 N. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2130.
