Jack Wood, age 84, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. Visitation will be today, Sept. 6th from 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights, Florence. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Sept. 7th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. The burial will follow at Walston Cemetery.
Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and was a member of the Carpenter’s Local #109. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Bessie Wood; brothers, Teddy Ralph Wood, Rexie Wood, Johnny Wood, and Billy Wood; and sister, Tommie Sue Risner.
Jack is survived by wife, Betty Wood; daughters, Sallie Wood and Shelly Wood; and her daughters, Savana Burbank and Trulie Holden; brother, Jerry Wood; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Keith Horton, Bob Risner, Scotty Risner, Eddie Pitman, K.D. Wood, and Wayne Womble. Honorary pallbearers are Doc Woods, Hollis Crowden, Ray Hudson, Dan Wood, Ricky Wood, Ralph Brown, and all of his buddies from Haddocks.
