JoAnn Smith Duncum, age 65, Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at UAB Hospital.
Mrs. Jo was a member of 16th Avenue Baptist Church in Decatur, where she was a faithful member, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the choir. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother, and a friend to everyone who knew her.
The visitation will 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Friday, August 19, 2016 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville. The funeral will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Roger Bond, Bro. Jerry Pounders, and Bro. David Kelley. Burial will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed & Dora (Baggett) Smith; 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 47 years, Danny Duncum; daughter, Beth Duncum; Joey’s Joy Brandy Boots; sister, Rose Ray (husband, Jimmy); brother, John L. Smith; sister-in-law, Teresa Guyton; and many cherished nieces & nephews.
The pallbearers will be Jason Svatek, Justin Smith, Mickey Quillen, Joey Bailey, Barry Jones, Eddie Howard, and Teddy Howard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of our friends, family, and church family who have called & supported us with prayers, cards, and visits during this difficult time.
