Scam Alert Issued By U.S. Marshals

THE SHOALS-The Florence Police Department received a notice from the United States Marshals:

“The United States Marshals Services contacted the Florence Police Department about a recent phone scam from the Florence area. They will claim that you were subpoenaed to be on a Federal Grand Jury and you did not show up. There is now currently a warrant for your arrest then they will ask for money. Do not send money or give your personal information it is a scam. If you are contacted you can call the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-256-534-4529.”
