Mr. Orby Durell Reeves, 82, died Monday, July 25, 2016 at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation after a brief illness. He was born March 29, 1934 in Pontotoc Co., MS to Orby Newell Reeves and Ethel Elee Eubanks Reeves. He worked many years as a truck driver, his last employment before retiring, being with Grant Trucking. He enjoyed gardening, going to singings, and old country music. He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.
A celebration of his life and home-going will be at 4 PM, Friday, July 29, 2016 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Gladwin Carpenter officiating. Private burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 PM to service time only.
Survivors include two brothers, James Loyd Reeves (Darlene) of Shannon and Harvey Reeves (Dean) of Wren; five sisters, Louise Jolly (Dick) of Meridian, Belle Cummings of Saltillo, Rene Hatcher of Wren, Carolyn Waggoner (Lloyd) of Mooreville, and Patsy Dodson (Gary) of Columbia, S.C.; one grandson, Steven Wade Stegall of Pontotoc; a host of nieces, nephews, and other near relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Glen David Reeves and Danny Wade Reeves, and an infant child, Debra Joyce Reeves.
Pallbearers will be Scott Cummings, Glenn Reeves, Bubba Reeves, Paul Hood, Mickey Payne, and Tim Reeves.
