James Arlis “Jody” Perry – Obituary

artisMr. James Arlis “Jody” Perry, 58, died unexpectedly at his residence, Sunday, July 24, 2016. He was born May 1, 1958 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Charles C. Perry, Jr. and Jean Sprayberry Perry Shaw. He worked as a butcher for various businesses, the last employment being with Shaw’s Meat Market. He also processed deer meat for the public. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, duck hunting, and being outdoors. He loved music of all types and loved his church family at Egypt Baptist Church. His greatest legacy was his love for his family, friends and people he met. Everyone who knew him, had to love him, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be at 6 PM, Thursday, July 28, 2016 in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Tommy Brooks officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 PM to service time.
Survivors include his father, Charles Perry, Jr. and wife Judee, of Las Vegas, NV; his mother, Jean Shaw of Grenada; his loving wife, Sandra Young Perry of Okolona; one son, Dylan Perry of Okolona; stepson, Corey Sandlin of Pontotoc; one daughter, Bethany Jean Perry of Grenada; two stepdaughters, Katherine Sandlin of Tupelo and Rikkita Sandlin of Pontotoc; brother, Charles “Chuck” Perry, III (Rachel) of Corpus Christi, TX; half-brother, Robert Michael Perry (Sarah) of Port Angeles, WA; one sister, Robyn Perry Hood (Tim) of Grenada; seven grandchildren, Aliya Sandlin, Miya Sandlin, Abby Sandlin, Tyler Queen, Noah Sandlin, Nevaeh Sandlin, and Olivia Highfield; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear relatives. He was preceded in death by his step-father, John Robert Shaw.
Memorials may be sent to Egypt Baptist Church, 3344 CR 406, Okolona, MS 38860.

I am so sorry for this loss and I send my deepest heartfelt condolences and sympathy’s to His Family. I will Miss my “OtherBrother” . My memories of growing up with Jody as my friend are even more cherished now. For many a year it was Me, Jody Walt and Dorman, kinda like the “four Musketeers ” I could not have asked for a better friend! Blessed Be , Jody!
