TUSCUMBIA – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-car crash that took the life of a Tuscumbia man and sent three others to the hospital with injuries:
“A single-vehicle crash at 9:50 a.m. today, July 5, has claimed the life of a Tuscumbia man. Jessie Lee James, 44, was killed when the 2006 Hyundai in which he was a passenger left the roadway and overturned after striking a culvert.
James, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle’s driver, Timmie Lee James, 40, of Tuscumbia, and one passenger, Karen Pennington, 51, of Tuscumbia, were transported to Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield. An additional passenger, Jeanette Parker, 45, of Tuscumbia, was transported to ECM Hospital in Florence.
The crash occurred on Frankfort Road, five miles south of Tuscumbia.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.”
