codiCodi Lynn Singleton, 24, Birmingham, Ala., formerly of Brandenburg, Ky., passed away June 23, 2016. She was born October 15, 1991 to Renetta J. Singleton and Steven J. Bicoll. She is survived by her mother, Renetta J. Singleton Johnston, Brandenburg; father, Steven J. Bicoll, Mich.; stepfather, Curt Johnston, Brandenburg; stepmother, Brady Lee Bicoll, Mich.; sisters, Josee J. Johnston, Jessi J. Johnston, Brandenburg, and Riley R. Bicoll, Mich.; brothers, Brandon L. Bicoll and Joseph N. Bicoll, Mich.; grandparents, Robert and Ruth Singleton, Mauckport, Ind., and Harry and the late Mary Bicoll, Mich.; aunts, Rena Singleton, Robin Reynolds, Ricki Singleton, and the late Elaine Piro; special friends, Taylor McCleeary and Shelia Sodosinski; and her beloved dog, Atticus. She was a 2010 graduate of Meade County High School. Codi was a 2010 initiate of the Alpha Xi chapter of Kappa Delta soroity, in which she served multiple positions. One of her proudest accomplishments was serving as the Vice President of Membership and leading a record-breaking recruitment for the chapter. Her sorority sisters found her to be a great leader, role model, and friend to all. She received her Bachelor of Science and Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Louisville. She and her boyfriend, Peter Ostling, M.D., recently moved to Birmingham, Ala. where Peter is doing his internship at Brookwood Baptist Health. Codi was employed by Greystone Smile Designs. Kappa Delta will be hosting a candlelight vigil in Codi’s memory on Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m. in Louisville, Ky. at near the Kappa Delta suite, 2033 S 4th St., Louisville, Ky., 40208-1826. All are welcome to come show their support, reminisce on good memories, and celebrate Codi’s beautiful life. A favorite memory of Curt and Renetta was the times they would travel for Codi’s academic and recall competitions. She excelled in all academic areas and she loved learning. Her best area was writing. After the competitions, they would take in the sights of the city, the parks, and the pools. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 3, at 4 p.m. for her family, and 6 p.m. for friends at 3215 Battletown Road, Brandenburg. Please bring a chair and covered dish.
