Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Yeiser, age 98, are scheduled for 11 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Lexington. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Yeiser passed away Sunday in Lexington. She was born November 27, 1917 in Henderson County to the late Edgar and Allie Mae McCall Yarbro. She was a graduate of Lexington High School and received her BA degree from Union University and Masters Degree from Murray State University. Mrs. Yeiser began her teaching career in Waynesboro and returned to Lexington in 1965 following the death of her husband, Mr. Russ Yeiser. She became an English teacher at Lexington High School, taught typing classes, worked as a counselor, and even served as interim principal. She was the oldest member of First Baptist Church in Lexington where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and Mission Support Chairman for the WMU. She was also a member of Jackson Community Concerts Association, a past president of Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and was vice president of the Book Lovers Club. Her hobbies included needlework, reading, cooking, working with flowers, and refinishing old furniture. Survivors include her son, Jim Yeiser; her daughter, Martha Ann Yeiser Siler (Frank); three grandchildren, James Russ Yeiser, Brook Leigh Henson, and Wade Crownover; and four great grandchildren, Madelyn Henson, Ally, Paige, and Cara Beth Crownover. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Yeiser was also preceded in death by one brother, Edgar McCall Yarbro.
