Funeral services for Ms. Nashie Blankenship, age 88, are scheduled for 4 PM, Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Bro. Clint Burkhead and Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Interment will follow in Old Jacks Creek Cemetery. Ms. Blankenship passed away Thursday in Lexington. She was born December 1, 1927 in Madison County to the late Dalford Lee and Bulah Dunavan Jones. She was retired from Brown Shoe Company, was a member of Luray Baptist Church, and enjoyed watching the Game Show Network Channel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Max Blankenship; one son, Gary Buckley; one daughter, Linda Burkeen; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; one son-in-law, Larry Greenway; six sisters, Kathy Curran, Ruby Burress, Mary Alice Smith, Opal Rhodes, Sadie Holloman, and Jessie Jones; and three brothers, Sam, Doc, and Dee Jones. Survivors include three sons, Don Buckley (Pamela), Terry Buckley (Nancy), and Roger Buckley (Lisa); three daughters, Anita Greenway, Judy Brantley (Tom), and Penny Barnes (Greg); one son-in-law, Billy Burkeen; one brother, Tommy Jones (Doris); 21 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
