Barbara met and married her high school sweetheart in Ohio and moved to Alabama in 1960. This move suited them well because they enjoyed boating, swimming, skiing and fishing on the Tennessee River.

Barbara and Louis enjoyed years of traveling from coast to coast and beyond. She continued on with many more trips to various cities and sites, always ready to travel.

She worked at the North West Alabama Rehab Center and Safe Place. She also did extensive volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Joseph School and Church.

She was a talented seamstress and a dedicated quilter and Guild member with numerous quilts, projects and quilt shows under her belt. She developed a passion for gardening late in life and became a Master Gardner. Her gift of working with flowers and plants showed in how she cared for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Wister Cooper and Anna Lippencott Cooper; her loving husband Louis Dudek of 45 years and nine siblings.

Survivors include her son, Louis Michael Dudek (Eleanor); daughters, Barbara Lynne Devor and Lorie Susan Schenck (Norman); sister, Edith Mae Hunt of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren, Lorrie-Michelle Schenck Collings of Marysville, Ohio, Rachel Leigh Dudek of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Keith Dudek of Anderson, South Carolina and Robin Lynne Devor of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; great-grandchildren, Katherine and Katelyn Collings, Coner Pacentine, Griffin Wyatt Devor and Lukas Dudek.
