turnerTurner C. White, 90, formerly of Waterloo, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11:55 p.m. At Riverside Village, Elkhart.

He was born in Waterloo on Jan. 24, 1926 to the late William and Margaret Ballentine White, and married Coreen Austin there on Dec. 25, 1943. She survives at home after 72 years of marriage.

Also surviving are his daughters, Connie (Allen) Roberts of Elkhart, Joan Brazell of Loveland, Colorado and Linda (Eric) Stutz of Bristol; sons, Jeff (Cheryl) White of Granger and Steve (Mickey) White of Bremen; brothers, William “Dub” (Brenda) and Jack (Sharon) White, both of Waterloo; sisters, Faye (Bob) Duha of Wisconsin, Mable Morris of Savannah, Tennessee and Irene Lard of Mishawaka; 12 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are sisters, Beatrice, Jeanette and Zula.

Turner’s life will be celebrated Thursday, May 5, 2016 beginning with a visitation at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart, at noon. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with burial following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.

Turner retired after working as a millwright at Dodge Manufacturing in Mishawaka for 33 1/2 years. He was an accomplished handyman who enjoyed gardening. He attended General Baptist Churches and belonged to the Waterloo Seniors when he lived in Alabama.
