MADISON-Early Monday morning Madison Police Officers responded to the area of the Oxford Subdivision, on County Line Road, regarding a breaking and entering to automobile. A witness observed an individual inside their vehicle and called police dispatch. Responding officers quickly located and detained the suspect, who was in possession of a loaded firearm. Officers continued to check the area and located two more suspects hiding in a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Huntsville. Officers learned that all three offenders were juveniles.
During the investigation, Madison Police learned that the three suspects were also responsible for the theft of a motor vehicle that occurred in our city on April 1, 2016. It was also learned that the suspects were involved in a number of Unlawful Breaking and Entering to Automobiles, Thefts of Property and two residential Burglaries that occurred from mid-February through April 1,, 2016
The offenders were charged were with:
1. 17 counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering an Automobile
2. 11 counts of Theft of Property
3. 1 count of Receiving Stolen Property in the First Degree
4. 1 Count of Theft of Property in the First Degree (for theft of a motor vehicle)
5. 1 count of Burglary in the Second Degree
6. 1 Count of Burglary in the Third Degree
7. One of the juveniles was also charged with Firearm License Required

The Madison Police Department appreciates the information provided by the citizen who witnessed this crime in progress, as well as the quick response and diligence of our officers who were able to locate and arrest the suspects.
