Dennis Wayne Watters – Obituary

Dennis Wayne Watters, 67, went to be with the Lord
Sunday, April 10th, 2016, at Walker Baptist Medical
Center, Jasper, Alabama.

Mr. Watters is survived by wife, Carol Elliott Watters, two
children: Denise Watters Berry (Brian), Dennis (Bubba)
Watters (Brandi). He was “PawPaw” to six grandchildren:
Jordan, Jacob, Blake, Madison, Kinzlee, & Brayden.

Dennis was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he
earned several medals for his dedication and bravery
including the Bronze Star with “V” device. The discipline
and patriotism he learned in the 71/2 years in the Army
never left him, as friends and family will attest. After his
service in the military, he became a coal miner. Dennis
retired from Jim Walter Resources after 34 years. He
spent his retirement years traveling with the love of his life
as well as spending time with his children and
grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

Services will be held this Thursday, April 14th, at
Collins-­Burke Funeral Home in Jasper. The viewing will
be at 11:00 followed by funeral services at 1:00.
Graveside services will be at Shady Grove Cemetery,
Double Springs, Alabama.
