Carl W. Heaps, age 81, passed away on March 25, 2016 at his residence.
Visitation will be tonight at Akins Funeral Home from 5 p.m. for family and 6-8 p.m. for friends. The funeral service will be Monday March 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Akins Funeral Home Chapel. The ministers will be Glenn Bridgmon and Keith Hood. Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shannon Bishop, Wesley Bishop, Kerry Gasque, Kevin Gasque, Brandon Gasque and Dale Garrison.
Mr. Heaps was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Britnell Heaps; parents, Johnny and Louise Heaps; sister, Cathryn Garrison; brothers, William Heaps, Bobby Heaps, and Drewey Heaps.
Mr. Heaps is survived by his children, Deborah Heaps Bishop and husband William, Janice Heaps Sibley and husband Tim.
He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren with a host of nieces and nephews.
